The Drone Pilot will fill a key role in providing and managing all drone flights, imagery, and software to ensure both Engineering and Project teams are getting maximum value out of the drone flights. This role will require precise and diligent coordination with all pertinent departments to ensure that all flight plans and uploaded data are meeting the required field verification. The Drone Pilot position is responsible for understanding, preparing, and executing mapping flights on our projects. The Drone Pilot should additionally select which drone kit and sensor best fits the required criteria of each project. During mission execution, the Drone Pilot will be responsible for all portions of the mission including travel to and from site, transportation logistics for the drone, setting ground control, executing the flight, and ensuring data is uploaded in a timely manner. The Drone Pilot will remain the primary point of contact for their assigned sites when questions arise related to the flight or flight data. This is a multifaceted role that will require an understanding of the Part 107 rules, LAANC waivers, GNSS / RTK technology, photogrammetry / LiDAR, safety in remote environments, travel coordination, and computer literacy to ensure the success of themselves, the Site Investigation team, and Primoris Renewable Energy as a whole.
