Marketing Analysts must have an excellent knowledge of statistics, mathematics, and analytics and a demonstrated aptitude for data interpretation. These skills are easily acquired when obtaining a degree in marketing, business, or economics. Additional credentials and courses in Market Analytics are definite assets.  
  
Most Marketing Analysts have at least a bachelor's degree. Still, the field increasingly requires a master's degree in business administration (MBA) focusing on marketing or market research. Many Marketing Analysts begin their careers as marketing assistants or researchers and work their way up the corporate ladder. 
  
These practitioners must be capable of determining which numbers are significant for a marketing campaign, so related degrees like Mathematics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Accounting, or Business Administration can lend a helping hand to Marketing Analysts that want to excel in their careers. Anywhere data analysis is studied, aptitude in data analysis software is also necessary, and many employers value experience in data analysis and customer segmentation.
