Having at least three years of work experience and a bachelor's degree in Translation, Interpretation, Modern Languages, or English is essential for Translator professionals. Some companies look to hire Translators who have related work experience and a detailed portfolio that showcases their work.  
 
However, the skills training needed for becoming a Translator doesn't start and end with your college or university training. The fact is that even if you’re fluent in a language, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have the skills to translate. Being able to provide clear, efficient translation often requires specialized training in addition to language study.
