What does a 911 Dispatcher do?
To promptly asess the situation, in a calm collective demiinor. If assement calls for police involvment to immediately forward the situation to law enforcment by giving them as many details as possible. If possible also inquire if the peron in need is still in danger, address, details that would help the officers to better assess the perpetrator. Most importantly to stay on the line if permitted in a calm and hopefully helpfull way to find out if the person sustained injuries and if possible can find a safe spot until authorities reach the person in need!
A 911 dispatcher takes emergency calls from the public and communicates with the proper authorities to dispatch the appropriate response personnel. In this role, your duties include finding out the nature of the emergency, getting the address from the caller, and sending the information to the relevant department.
