The number one role of a Nanny is to ensure the safety and well-being of the children while the parents are unavailable. Nannies may prepare meals, take the children outside the home for activities, and, if needed, discipline children in a way approved by their parents.

While Nannies may be permitted to give children a certain amount of screen time, they also need to find other ways to keep them entertained. Organizing walks, crafts, and other excursions are a fun part of the Nanny’s job.

Nannies may also drop off/pick up children from extracurriculars such as sports practices or music lessons, prepare meals or snacks, or help with homework assignments. It all depends on their arrangement with the family and the age of the children they’re caring for.
