Technical Support Specialists provide technical assistance to staff within their company or to outside customers from a help desk or over the phone in a call center. In addition to responding to help requests from staff members or clients, they are responsible for maintaining all systems and hardware. 

This maintenance includes checking and running reports on the status of systems and hardware, installing and configuring new systems, replacing malfunctioning or damaged hardware, and troubleshooting software. They are also responsible for testing, assessing, and learning about updates and new technology. 

Technical Support Specialists work in a fast-paced environment, using their experience in computer and information systems and in customer service management to provide support to others in a timely manner. They are depended on for their in-depth knowledge of computer hardware and systems to ensure that company IT systems run efficiently.

Average day of a Technical Support Specialist
