A Chiropractor is a highly specialized professional that is an expert in the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Chiropractors work directly with patients to improve any problems they have concerning their body and alignment using a hands-on approach.

In Canada, Chiropractors hold a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine title, but they do not have the same responsibilities as other Doctors, nor do they hold a medical degree. They do have extensive training and are licensed professionals, but their practices are more traditional and do not involve surgery.

Chiropractors work with the entire body and with a variety of patients from various backgrounds and ages. Solely using their hands as instruments, they can adjust, align, and improve the body and spinal functions. Chiropractors' work is focused on the spine, using manual manipulation skills to help restore and heal their clientele.

Chiropractors are patient, detail-oriented, and empathetic. Their goal is to help clients ease stress and discomfort. The client must be relaxed and comfortable, and Chiropractors in Canada must undergo several years of intensive and competitive education to earn their title.

What a Chiropractor Can Do:
  • A Chiropractor can manipulate the body to ease pain using techniques they learn while studying
  • A Chiropractor can treat issues that include the entire body, from back pain to headaches
  • A Chiropractor can refer patients to Physicians who require additional treatment they cannot solve
  • A Chiropractor can help boost immunity and digestion through spinal manipulation that impacts the nerves
What a Chiropractor Can't Do:
  • A Chiropractor cannot perform the same procedures as Physicians; their studies are intense, but they are not qualified to complete the same tasks as Physicians
  • A Chiropractor cannot perform surgeries or any invasive procedures using medical equipment
  • A Chiropractor cannot prescribe medicine to their patients; however, they can advise patients on exercises to help ease their pain and discomfort
  • A Chiropractor cannot reset bone brakes; yet, they can complement the healing process
