Job Summary

The Student Learning Facilitator I provides tutoring to GateWay Community College students in-person and online (through Google Meet) for assigned courses. Sessions can be one-on-one, small groups, or embedded in class. We are currently accepting applications for the following subject areas: math, chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology, microbiology. Hiring multiple positions. Shifts are all in person on GateWay’s Washington campus.

Essential Functions

90% Tutors students in assigned discipline areas

10% Training; maintains digital record keeping of tutoring; other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of courses tutored with a grade of A or B (verifiable with unofficial transcript).
• Instructor recommendation for all subjects the candidate desires to tutor or passing score on subjects skills tests.
• Digital fluency for internet searches, time punches, online tutor training, and Google Suite including Gmail, Google Sheets, and Google Forms, as well as virtual meeting platforms such as Google Meet.
• Qualified to tutor in math and at least one additional subject including: chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology, microbiology
• Ability to work all shifts in person on GateWay’s Washington campus.

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to tutor 3 or more STEM subjects listed in minimum qualifications (chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology, and microbiology).

Special Working Conditions

● Will be assigned to the GateWay Washington location

● May require some evenings

● May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen

● May be required to lift or carry up to #25lbs
