We do this through strategic and complimentary areas of focus : Strategy Consulting & Insights, Value, Access & Outcomes, Medical Strategy & Communications, and Real-World Evidence.

Responsibilities / Position overview

We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our Medical Affairs consulting group within Lumanity, which has a specialized focus on empowering Medical Affairs leaders. We partner with our clients to navigate complex challenges, unlock the full value of their assets, and shape the future of medicine. Our key differentiator is our deep, focused expertise in Medical Affairs, combined with the strategic rigor and innovative thinking expected from top-tier consultancies.

As we continue our ambitious growth trajectory, we are seeking an entrepreneurial and visionary leader to join us as a Principal Consultant. This is a unique opportunity to not only deliver impactful client work but to also be a core architect of our business’ expansion, culture, and market presence. You will play a pivotal role in a dynamic environment, blending the intellectual challenge of strategy consulting with the tangible rewards of building a business.

As a Principal Consultant, you will be a senior leader within our Medical Affairs practice. You will operate at the intersection of client delivery and business development, with an anticipated allocation of approximately 60% to client project leadership and 40% to business development and firm-building initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior Medical Affairs clients, leveraging your expertise to guide strategy at both the organizational and asset levels

You will also have a keen focus on coaching and mentoring our growing junior team to deliver high quality outcomes, while enhancing your team’s skills and supporting individual development.

Primary responsibilities include :

Strategic Client Leadership & Project Execution :

  • You will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex strategic engagements across a range of Medical Affairs related projects at both organizational level and asset level, ensuring the highest quality of thinking and client service.
  • You will provide proactive executive leadership to project teams, guiding them from initial project design through to the final deliverables.
  • This includes being accountable for the quality of all project outputs and leading key client engagements, such as moderating senior-level advisory boards and strategic workshops.
  • You will act as the primary strategic thought partner for your clients, providing ongoing value that extends beyond the immediate project scope

Business Development & Client Relationship Management :

  • A significant portion of your focus will be on driving the growth of our business.
  • You will be instrumental in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities by actively building and leveraging your professional network.
  • Responsibilities include leading the development of compelling proposals, generating leads, and deepening relationships within key accounts to uncover new avenues for partnership.
  • You will also contribute to our firm\'s long-term growth strategy by identifying promising new service offerings and potential business categories
  • Firm Leadership & Team Development :

  • As a senior member of the team, you will be a culture carrier and a mentor.
  • You will play an active role in shaping the firm\'s strategic direction through your contributions to management discussions and internal initiatives.
  • Your responsibilities will include mentoring and coaching junior consultants, championing their professional development, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • You will help build our firm\'s intellectual capital by advancing thought leadership on key topics within Medical Affairs and the broader life sciences landscape
  • You will drive effective collaboration with experts across Lumanity business practice areas within the broad Lumanity organization, leveraging access to broad capabilities of the organization to best service our collective clients and provide learning and growth opportunities for our team members.
