Job Summary
Decontaminate (dis-assemble, clean by hand and / or machine) medical instruments / materials. Assemble and package, inspect and test instruments, re-assemble sets, place sets in proper containers and / or wrapping and load / transport loaded carts with prepared sets. Maintain record of loads and items being removed from department for processing. Transport loads to and from CSS and prepare proper storage of instruments and equipment. Use and test sterilizing equipment; perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves; perform diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer. Record and accurately interpret results of tests; assist OR staff; help locate needed supplies and equipment. Communicate professionally even when under pressure / fulfilling demanding and / or stressful requests.
