Sr. Accountant

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller or Accounting Manager and is responsible for performing a variety of complex accounting duties, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and assisting with month?end and year?end close processes. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. The ideal candidate is detail?oriented, curious, proactive, collaborative, and experienced with QuickBooks and NetSuite accounting systems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare financial and other analysis to support management decisions and reporting.
• Support the month?end and year?end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, identifying variances and trends.
• Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager or Controller and work cross?functionally on process improvements, analysis, and accounting projects.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and files.
• Support system enhancements and integrations within QuickBooks and NetSuite.
• Calculate and prepare sales commission reports in accordance with company policies and sales agreements.
• Prepare sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.
