Job Description

Position Summary : The project coordinator is responsible for tracking and managing the BIM coordination process, ensuring that the schedule is met and minimizing roadblocks. This role may involve running coordination for some projects. Upon completion, the coordinator manages the fabrication process through purchasing, building, and shipping to ensure timely and accurate delivery to the site.

Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Pre-Construction & Project Kickoff :
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the project and all available documentation.
  • Identify project schedules and delivery methods (design-build, design-assist, etc.).
  • Set up kickoff meetings and coordinate team onboarding.
  • Manage architectural, structural, and MEP models.

Coordination & Design Integration :

  • Lead project coordination meetings with stakeholders.
  • Define responsibilities, manage scopes, and schedule reviews with subcontractors.
  • Maintain coordination schedules and integrate into master schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Data / Technology Manager on file-sharing platforms.
  • Conduct clash detections and resolve issues.
  • Review pipe specifications and submittal logs with procurement.
  • Fabrication Planning & Oversight :

  • Create and approve fabrication plans based on project key plans.
  • Maintain consistent naming conventions and schedules.
  • Manage the spooling and approval of fabrication work orders.
  • Track fabrication progress and document in tracking sheets.
  • Construction Support :

  • Act as the liaison between fabrication and construction teams.
  • Manage field drawing submissions and site due dates.
  • Monitor project status through site visits and adjust schedules as needed.
  • General Duties :

  • Maintain weekly progress notes and share updates.
  • Ensure prompt communication via phone, email, and meetings.
  • Proactively address challenges to ensure project success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum of 5 years in project coordination, preferably in construction or mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of design-build and design-assist processes.
  • Experience with Revit is highly preferred.

  • Education :

  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Trade school experience is a plus.
  • Special Requirements :

  • OSHA 10 certification.
