What's the role?
Title IV Compliance Auditors are responsible for ensuring both students and institutions comply with federal financial aid regulations. This includes :
- Determining students' eligibility to receive Title IV funds, including Federal Pell Grants, FSEOG, FWS, and Direct Loans (Subsidized, Unsubsidized, PLUS).
- Determining institutions' eligibility to receive and administer Title IV funds, including program eligibility, accreditation, and state authorization.
- Reviewing and reconciling financial aid processes to ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
- Monitoring disbursements, cash management, reconciliation, and timely returns of Title IV funds.
- Identifying compliance issues and providing recommendations for corrective action.
What experience and skills do I need to be successful?
Two-year Accounting associate degree, Bachelor's degree preferred.At least 4 years of experience working in a college financial aid office administering Title IV funds.Strong knowledge of current federal financial aid regulations, including :Eligibility determination, packaging (budget / COA), and disbursements.
Verification and resolution of conflicting information.Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) monitoring and term progression.Cash management (G5 / G6), reconciliation (Direct Loan Statement of Accounts).Return of Title IV Funds, including timeliness of refunds.NSLDS (campus and program-level statuses).COD (accuracy and timeliness of disbursements).Additional knowledge in accounting and tax preparation.Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulations.Great Perks and Benefits :
