Senior Consultant for Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Solutions

Job Title : Senior Consultant for Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Solutions

Location : Main Campus - Dayton, OH

The Senior Consultant, Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Solutions is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing training and consulting opportunities with manufacturing clients seeking operational improvement.

Utilizing expertise in workforce development and change management, this role consults closely with clients to assess their technical, compliance, and organizational needs and recommends customized training and consulting solutions aligned with their strategic objectives.

The consultant nurtures trusted client relationships, partners with subject matter experts to deliver tailored service offerings and ensures a smooth implementation and post-engagement support. This position requires consultative selling skills, strong communication abilities, and proven success in selling professional services to the manufacturing industry.

The potential minimum compensation for this position begins at $101,000.00 and is commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for training and consulting services with manufacturing clients, leveraging industry knowledge and networks
  • Conduct needs assessments to understand client challenges in workforce development, compliance, productivity, or process improvement
  • Present tailored training and consulting solutions, demonstrating ROI and alignment with client goals
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation and closing deals
  • Maintain and grow long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring ongoing client satisfaction and repeat business
  • Collaborate with delivery and subject matter teams to ensure accurate solution design and client transition
  • Track market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies within engineering and manufacturing training
  • Report on activity, pipeline, and performance metrics using relevant CRM and reporting tools
  • Align work with the Workforce Development Strategic Plan
  • Ensure close alignment with key manufacturing focused organizations
  • Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
  • Degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience required
  • Strong consultative and solution-selling skills specific to training and professional services required
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, compliance, and workforce development challenges
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing full sales cycles in B2B, preferably within advanced engineering or manufacturing settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal trainers, consultants, and client-facing teams
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred
