The Program Director of the Center for Social Justice (CSJ) co-leads and supports the University’s social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) efforts, including St. Petersburg student / site support, Adelante Bridge preparation / implementation, partnership development / stewardship, community building and Rope Team management, Title IX and Title VI, and JEDI capacity building support. The Program Director reports to the University’s Founding Director of the Center for Social Justice, Chief Diversity Officer, & Title IX Coordinator, with a strong link to the St. Petersburg, Florida Executive Site Lead, and will work in-person or hybrid at the Excelsior University St. Petersburg site in Florida. The Program Director will be expected to travel at least once a quarter to Excelsior’s Albany, NY campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following : Other duties may be assigned
St. Petersburg Student / Site Support – approximately 20% (initiating after onboarding)
Support as needed the planning, preparation for, and the hosting of St. Petersburg programs and guests, including speakers, employers, alums, etc.
Adelante Bridge Preparation / Implementation Support (Adelante is a language bridge that teaches Spanish speakers college level English in addition to initial courses of their degree in Spanish) – approximately 20% (initiating after training, 2 months into the job)
Co-lead the implementation, instruction, wrap around student support, and assessment of the ¡Adelante! Bridge online.
Co-lead the exploration and promotion of a hybrid version of the Adelante Bridge in Florida, including partnership seeking, program adaptation, bridge preparation for piloting, and its eventual implementation.
Co-lead and support other future postsecondary bridge programs for underrepresented students, including contributing to their design, development, promotion, partnership procurement and collaboration, implementation, and evaluation.
Partnership Development / Stewardship Support – approximately 20% (initiating after onboarding)
Community Building and Rope Team Management Support (Rope Teams are virtual and programming communities or support villages around our students based on the dimensions of identity that matter to them and to their allies) – approximately 20% (initiating after onboarding)
Title IX and Title VI Support – approximately 10% (initiating after training, 6 months into the job)
JEDI Capacity Building – approximately 10% (initiating after training, 3 months into the job)
