We're seeking a Director of Tax Compliance to lead the preparation and filing division at Accruity. In this role, you'll manage the operational side of tax overseeing workflows, reviewing work, ensuring deadlines are met, and building efficient, scalable systems for compliance and filing. This role is about executional excellence, not strategy you'll be the one ensuring every return we file is accurate, timely, and fully compliant.

What You'll Do :

  • Oversee all aspects of federal, state, and local tax filings for business and individual clients.
  • Build and manage a systemized calendar and workflow to ensure returns are organized, communications are tight, and deadlines are always met.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of tax preparers and reviewers focused on compliance excellence.
  • Integrate modern tools, software, and automation solutions to streamline return prep, client intake, and documentation collection.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Planning and Fulfillment teams to ensure seamless execution across client services.
  • Personally review high-impact or complex filings and serve as final sign-off before submission.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and software updates to keep processes compliant and efficient.
  • What We're Looking For :

  • CPA or EA required : You'll review and sign off on returns while managing the compliance team.
  • Experience : 5+ years in tax compliance, with expertise in both business and individual filings.
  • Leadership : Prior leadership role in a CPA firm or tax-focused practice.
  • Industry Knowledge : Strong background in real estate and service-based business tax compliance.
  • Drive : A self-starter who can design and implement controls, workflows, SOPs, and tech-enabled efficiencies.
  • Mindset : Confident, humble, collaborative, and motivated to build something exceptional.

  • Employment Type : Permanent | Full Time | Salaried, Exempt | Hybrid (Pittsburgh-based)

  • Compensation : $125,000 – $175,000 (based on experience)
