A prestigious mid-size firm located in Baltimore, Maryland with a chambers ranked practice is looking for an associate to join its Real Estate and Business Transactions Group. While not a large firm, this firm represent high-end clients on complex matters, akin to the type of work in big law firms.

The right candidate will have :

• Background in commercial real estate transactions of diverse kinds (the group advises developers, owners, and equity investors in all stages of the real estate life cycle, from land acquisition through development, financing, construction, leasing, and deposition)
• Experience representing sellers, buyers, lenders, and / or borrowers in mixed-use, multi-family, affordable housing, and commercial developments
• Experience with the formation and creation of condominium and homeowners' associations is a plus, as is any experience with tax credits (LIHTC, historic, and new markets)

The firm is

NOT

expecting someone to be an expert in everything, but experience across some of these areas including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, consulting agreements, development agreements, and other real estate documents is needed.

This is a firm that is really known for its culture in addition to high-quality work. The attorneys really vet all incoming attorneys so they can maintain a very collegiate "no sharp elbows" culture. With the clients predominantly institutional, the firm really is able to act as a team, and the runway for growth is not tied to bringing in clients.
