Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN PCU will care for patients who require close monitoring and specialized nursing interventions due to complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to moderately complex and acutely ill patients requiring continuous monitoring.
  • Perform frequent assessments and document patient condition, vitals, and response to treatment.
  • Manage and interpret cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and other advanced equipment.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform procedures per care plan.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and standards of care.

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent PCU / Stepdown experience .
  • BLS and ACLS required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • ADN or BSN in Nursing.
