Lab Veterinary Assistant

VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our Lab and Pharmacy team.

Role of Our Veterinary Assistants :

The duties include receiving and preparing blood, urine, and fecal samples for in-house laboratory analysis, sending them to outside laboratories as needed, recording data into the medical record, cleaning equipment after use, restocking supplies, and assisting with other veterinary and pharmacy-related tasks.

Detailed List of Duties and Responsibilities :

• Receiving, labeling, and safely storing samples for testing, both in-house and external
• Performing diagnostic tests (CBC, Chemistries, PCV, TP) and reporting results to the DVM and uploading them into our EMR system

Sample and diagnostic test prioritization by case urgency and severity

Cleaning and restocking the lab and pharmacy area, organizing supplies in designated locations

Schedule : Full-time with rotating weekends. Typical shifts are 8 : 00-6 : 00 or 8 : 30-6 : 30.
