A company is looking for a Medical Records Technician (Coder- Outpatient).
Key Responsibilities
Assigns codes to outpatient patient care encounters and surgical procedures
Conducts quality reviews of patient records to ensure accurate coding and compliance with guidelines
Utilizes computer systems to code, abstract, and transmit data to the national database
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
U.S. Citizenship is required
One year of experience in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical coding
Associate's degree in health information technology or related field, or completion of an AHIMA approved coding program
Certification through AHIMA or AAPC is required
Completion of a medical technician training program may be considered equivalent experience
