Travel Nurse Job Details Location : Charlottesville, Virginia 22908 Assignment Type : Travel Nursing, On-Site Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay : $1800 - $1840 Shift : Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day : 07 : 00-19 : 00, Night : 19 : 00-07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Patient Ratios : 1-2 patients per nurse (days, nights, weekends) Unit : Labor and Delivery (8 private labor rooms, 4 triage beds, 2 OB ORs) Average Annual Deliveries : 2,000 Weekend Coverage : Required (6-7 weekend shifts per contract) Holiday Coverage : Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays (Christmas RTO not approved) Float Requirement : Mother / Baby and NICU (feeder / growers) as needed Orientation : 36 hours Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions) Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience Active Registered Nurse license (Virginia or compact state; pending accepted but must be in-hand before start) BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required Fetal monitoring competency required Epic charting experience required Ability and willingness to cross-train to Mother / Baby unit BSN preferred Professional references required Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care for laboring mothers and newborns, including low-risk and high-risk cases Circulate for Cesarean Sections and assist in OB PACU, triage, and special procedures (cerclage, tubal ligation, fetal transfusion) Perform newborn assessments and support baby-friendly protocols Administer medications and therapies, including magnesium sulfate and insulin drips Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and postpartum hemorrhage Float as needed to Mother / Baby and NICU (feeder / growers) units within scope of practice Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, respiratory, pharmacy, and more) Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR Join our healthcare team in a modern Charlottesville facility and make a difference in maternal and newborn care.
