American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg RN for an acute care setting, requiring NE or compact RN license and recent BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit within an acute care hospitalPatient population includes medical, surgical, and orthopedic casesUsual nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5-6, with 1 : 6 occurring at least once per weekCentralized telemetry monitoring on the unitHeparin is the only titratable drip permittedRespiratory therapy is available on the floor 24 hours a dayPatient care techs are available with a 1 : 10-12 ratioRequires 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700)Weekend and holiday work required as neededNo call or standby requirementsFloating may be required to PCU or Burn unitsEPIC EMR system usedPrimary responsibilities include caring for adult medical, surgical, and orthopedic patientsCharge nurse is present on each shiftNavy blue scrubs requiredInitial orientation includes classroom instruction plus two 12-hour floor shiftsMaximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, must be submitted before assignment begins; additional RTO will not be approvedCandidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past yearFirst week includes mandatory pass / fail skills exam; failure to achieve 90% will result in contract termination\n \n Requirements\n
