CPIhealth is seeking a self-motivated, service-minded, and confident Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team.
The Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist role involves administrative duties to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and optimal patient outcomes. This role will also work in collaboration with physicians and medical professionals at our Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) to administer various forms of anesthesia and manage patient care during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling and Coordination
- Collaborate with scheduling departments, nursing, and ancillary staff to optimize provider schedules across all locations.
- Track provider PTO and external physician OR requests to maximize resource utilization.
- Ensure providers are competent for requested anesthesia types (e.g., blocks, general, IV / MAC).
Clinical Duties
Administer intravenous, MAC (monitored anesthesia care), and general anesthesia for surgical and invasive procedures.Perform pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing histories, physicals, and answering patient questions.Monitor patients' reactions and vital signs during and after anesthesia, taking remedial actions when necessary.Ensure proper setup, readiness, and sterility of all anesthesia equipment and supplies.Implement hemodynamic monitoring equipment correctly (e.g., BP cuff, Pulse oximetry, EKG).Document hemodynamic parameters, interventions, and medications administered accurately.Provide guidance to post-anesthesia care personnel regarding patient-specific conditions.Assist in the transport of patients and provide safe clinical procedures, ensuring compliance with physician protocols.Participate in mentoring, motivating, and training clinical staff.Administrative Duties
Review patient charts and ensure clearances and records are obtained prior to the date of service (DOS).Establish and enforce policies / guidelines in alignment with AAAHC, APSF, and ASA standards (e.g., BMI restrictions, NPO guidelines).Upload and review anesthesia billing sheets, ensuring accuracy of start / stop times, CPT codes, and billable comorbidities.Oversee credentialing of anesthesia providers with Medicare and private payor insurance.Ensure providers maintain required medical malpractice insurance limits.Process payroll for W-2 and 1099 providers and manage equipment and supply availability.This job description should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities or as an employment agreement between the employer and the employee. Requirements
Current CRNA certification and licensure.Proven clinical expertise in anesthesia care, including epidural, spinal, and peripheral nerve blocks.Familiarity with AAAHC, APSF, and ASA guidelines.Proficiency in electronic medical records (e.g., eClinicWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and contribute effectively in a team setting.Dress Code : Scrubs
Salary : Starting at $250K and up (depending on experience)
Schedule : Full time, Monday to Thursday 7 am to 5 pm and Friday 8 am to 12 pm
