Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a CA license, telemetry expertise, and orthopedic surgical skills. Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg and Telemetry float pool Care for adolescent through geriatric patient populations including general med / surg, telemetry, and moderate orthopedics Average census is 36 patients with a 1 : 4 nurse to patient ratio Night shift schedule (3x12hr, 19 : 00–07 : 30), every other weekend coverage required No on-call responsibilities May float between Med-Surg and Telemetry units Role includes caring for post cardiac angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, and cardiac surgery patients Responsibilities include managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), chest tubes, and various respiratory support devices Scrubs required in royal blue Pre-assignment online modules must be completed as required for specialty Return staff considered on a case-by-case basis All requested time off must be submitted in advance and no time off is permitted the first two weeks of assignment Local candidates are accepted at the same rate First time travelers are encouraged to apply Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required Must have experience working with orthopedic surgical and total joint patients Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias is required Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Strong intravenous therapy, central line, blood administration, and respiratory management experience required Experience with remote and on-unit telemetry monitoring References required upon request Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627774.
