Job Overview
The Electrical – Instrumentation Technician plays a critical role in supporting safe and efficient plant operations. This position is responsible for maintaining electrical systems, instrumentation, and control equipment across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems
Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate plant equipment to ensure reliability
Work within a planning and scheduling process using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment uptime and plant performance
Collaborate with the Maintenance & Reliability team to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Qualifications
Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment
Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24 / 7 plant operation
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes
Commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence
Key Responsibilities
Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment
Execute planned and scheduled electrical / instrumentation maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures
Collaborate with operations teams and contractors to prioritize work and ensure efficient resource usage
Perform minor troubleshooting and corrective actions as directed
Utilize CMMS to log work, document repairs, and request parts or materials
Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities per site procedures
Adhere to all regulatory (PSM) and internal standards for electrical and instrumentation work
Coordinate efforts with other E / I Technicians and production personnel to support plant reliability
Qualifications & Skills
High School Diploma required (Vocational or Technical School preferred)
Certified Electrician in the state of West Virginia (required)
Experience in a petrochemical or chemical process plant maintenance role
Ability to interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Proficiency in CMMS platforms and related maintenance tools
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing / calibration equipment
Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities
