Position Overview :

The Commercial Takeoff Estimator plays a crucial role in the estimation process by accurately quantifying materials and labor required for commercial construction projects. This role involves analyzing architectural plans, conducting on-site assessments, and utilizing industry-specific software to generate detailed project estimates. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand scope and requirements.
  • Perform quantity take offs for various components including roofing, siding, windows, and other exterior elements.
  • Utilize software programs such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools to generate accurate material lists and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project details.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather additional data for estimation purposes.
  • Research and analyze market trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain up-to-date pricing information.
  • Prepare comprehensive project proposals and bid packages in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address inquiries and provide clarification on estimates as needed.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings to facilitate a smooth transition from estimation to execution phase.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine estimation processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Submit estimation proposal and follow up for decision making determination

    • This position will report to the Branch Manager.

    Requirements : Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in commercial construction estimation, takeoff, or project management role.
  • Proficiency with estimation software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and construction practices related to exterior renovations is a plus.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies to enhance estimation processes.
