APPLICATIONS ENGINEER- MECHANICAL

Position Overview :
The Product Development team works closely with our engineering, quality assurance, sales, and marketing teams to guide products from conception to launch. As an Applications Engineer within our Product Development team, you help bridge the technical and business worlds as you work on solutions for the professional audio-visual industry. Responsibilities include helping with conceptualization, gathering of requirements, and testing of new products and solutions for use in meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and learning environments.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Work in an R&D environment, test hardware and software prototypes, evaluate new technologies, perform competitive product analysis, and market research.Assist with support issues and creating detailed documentation for new products.Emphasis will be on Extron's line of Architectural Connectivity solutions such as Cable Cubby and Flex55 for use on wall and furniture applications, but will also support video and audio switching and signal extension, and control solutions as part of Extron's line of Classroom and Collaboration systems.Document, test and stage Extron products for use in tradeshows and sales / customer demonstrations.Candidate will also help with the installation, testing, and maintenance of meeting room AV and UC technology.Minimum Qualifications :
BS degree in Mechanical / Electromechanical Engineering or related fields.Knowledge of manufacturing process related to sheet metal fabrication, plastic forming, and injection molding.Experience using 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) with understanding of GD&T.Familiar with basic lab bench testing tools and measuring devices.Experience with typical shop tools (drills, saws, etc.) required for cutting holes into walls or furniture, mounting speakers, pulling cables, mounting flat panel displays, etc.Ability to lift loads up to 25 pounds and work at various heights using ladders.Ability to quickly learn new technologies.Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.AV industry knowledge along with a solid engineering experience a plus.Experience working with IT, networking products, and network topologies a plus.Experience in similar or related field preferred.Knowledge of Revit a plus.Salary range : $70,000 to $72,000. Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
