A healthcare organization in Fairfield, CA is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide full-time, in-person therapy services for a school setting. This contract position begins as soon as possible and will cover a medical leave of approximately 30 days.
Qualified candidates will have experience in occupational therapy within school environments, healthcare, home health, or skilled therapy settings. The focus is on delivering hands-on, client-centered care to support students’ developmental and functional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations and interventions aligned with students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Implement therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills
- Collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other healthcare professionals to support student progress
- Document therapy sessions and maintain compliance with regulatory and school documentation standards
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid California OT or COTA licensure
- Experience working in school-based or healthcare-related occupational therapy settings
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches based on individual student needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Availability to start immediately for a full-time, short-term contract (about 30 days)
