Job Description

Summary

A public elementary school district in Ohio is seeking a Substitute Elementary Intervention Specialist to provide direct instructional and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs. The district serves elementary-aged learners in an inclusive setting and is committed to fostering academic growth and student resilience. This short-term role (November 17, 2025 – February 9, 2026) supports students through specialized intervention strategies, ensuring meaningful progress during the leave coverage period.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with moderate to intensive needs in alignment with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students’ behavioral, social, and emotional growth using research-based strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure continuity of student learning.
  • Maintain compliance with state, district, and professional educator standards.
  • Document student progress and communicate results with staff and families.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • What You’ll Need

  • Valid Ohio teaching license in Intervention Specialist or related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree (education or related field preferred).
  • Commitment to high-performance standards in engagement, proficiency, and resilience.
  • Successful completion of required background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
  • Bonus Skills

  • Experience working with students with moderate to intensive needs.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training.
  • PAX training.
  • Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience as an intervention specialist or in special education settings.
