Status : Full -Time (36 hours / week)

Overview :

Join our 22 -bed Medical Stepdown Unit!

Medical Stepdown is a unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill medical patients. We primarily focus on those suffering from respiratory failure and / or other general medical problems that are acutely ill.

Patient population may include : Bipaps, High Flow Oxygen, Tracheostomies, and Ventilated Tracheostomies, Respiratory Failure, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Alcohol Withdrawal, Drug Overdose, Severe Sepsis, End of Life Care

This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skills

Close relationship with pulmonologist

Due to the diverse nature this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.

22– patient bed unit

RN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support

24 / 7 Leadership support

Collaborate daily with Care Management team, PT and OT, dieticians and pharmacists

Qualifications :

Education & Licensure :

Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program

Must hold and maintain a current RN license for the hiring state or hold a compact nursing license

Comply with all state nursing board requirements

Physical Requirements :

Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts

Capable of gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting as needed

Certifications :

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) — Required

BLS (Basic Life Support) — Required or must complete within 30 days of hire

Additional unit-specific certifications as required, with timelines for acquisition
