Job Summary : Sells electrical and electronic merchandise to customers using salesmanship and in-depth knowledge of merchandise. Explains technical or artistic functionality of specialized household merchandise. Provides full range of customer service functions.
Duties And Responsibilities :
Authorized at Class I and Class II stores only.
Qualifications :
General experience : One year of responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled.
Specialized experience : 18 months progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing the kind of duties which constitute the principal work of the position to be filled and possesses technical knowledge of computers and electronics i.e. computers, cameras, video and audio equipment, stereo equipment, TVs, DVDs, etc. as it relates to quality, similarities, and differences.
Substitution of education for experience : Study completed in a college, university, junior college, technical school, or other comparable institution above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of one-half academic year of study for 6 months of experience provided such subjects relating to computers, home electronic sales, and / or repair, photography, etc. at any level specialized experience may be substituted for required general experience.
