Job description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for  SPED Teacher  to work in a school setting in Salem, OR. The candidate will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to create a supportive and effective learning environment that addresses the individual needs of students with behavioral challenges.

Pay Rate : up to $2,287 per week (based on working 37.5 hours a week) = ($61 / hr)

Job Duties :

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) focused on behavioral goals and academic standards appropriate for kindergarten students with special needs.
  • Utilize positive behavior support strategies and interventions to promote a safe and productive classroom environment.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress towards IEP goals, adjusting strategies and interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success and inclusion in school activities.
  • Provide direct instruction in a variety of settings, including one-on-one, small group, and whole class formats, adapting methods to meet students' needs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities related to special education, behavior management, and early childhood education.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress, interventions used, and communications with families and staff.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of students with behavioral challenges within the school community.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid Oregon teaching license with endorsements in Special Education and Early Childhood Education, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Proven experience in behavior management and special education, preferably with young children.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in special education and behavioral interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education and behavior support.
