The Schaumburg Township District Library is looking for a Fiction Library Reference Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time, hourly position requiring to work various hours as needed. This opportunity is for a 22 hours per week to be scheduled during library hours; required to work some nights and weekends as needed.

The hours for the position are :

• Mondays 8 : 45am - 1 : 00pm
• Tuesdays 8 : 45am - 1 : 00pm
• Thursdays 8 : 45am – 1 : 00pm
• Fridays 8 : 45am – 1 : 00pm

The schedule is based on the needs of the library and could change if and when needed. Starting pay is $20.51 / hour to $24.62 / hour, based on skills and qualifications.

Position Summary :

The Adult Services Library Associate is responsible for providing assistance to patrons in the Library’s Adult Service area; ensuring the desk runs efficiently and represents the Library standards; and assisting with adult programs related to readers’ advisory. The Adult Service Library Associate is responsible for promoting the collection through displays and bibliographies and assisting in the development and implementation of programs for adults.

Education and / or experience :

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is required. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications is required.
