Job Description

The New York State Unified Court System, 4th Judicial District Administrative Office is recruiting for one (1) position in the Court Attorney Series . The position will be filled in any of the following titles and will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the applicant selected : Associate Court Attorney, Senior Court Attorney, or Court Attorney. This position is assigned to the Law Department of the 4th Judicial District.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Handling foreclosure settlement conferences.
  • Mediation.
  • Becoming certified as a SCAR officer.
  • Providing legal support to chambers.
  • Researching and analyzing legal questions and issues.
  • Conferring with and advising judge on legal issues.
  • Writing confidential legal memoranda and recommending decisions.
  • Drafting confidential opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence.
  • Periodic travel may be required.

Qualifications :

  • Associate Court Attorney : Admission to the New York State Bar; and Five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre‑admission experience. Salary : $123,228
  • Senior Court Attorney : Admission to the New York State Bar; and Two (2) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre‑admission experience. Salary : $99,490
  • Court Attorney : Admission to the New York State Bar; or Graduation from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar within eighteen (18) months of appointment. Salary : $84,659
