UPMC West Shore is seeking part-time Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) to support our day-shift operations (4 : 00 AM–12 : 30 PM, 6 : 00 AM–2 : 30 PM, or 7 : 00 AM–3 : 30 PM), including every third weekend and rotating holidays .

In this role, you’ll perform accurate routine and STAT laboratory testing that directly impacts patient diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes—all while working alongside and under the supervision of experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists. Your clinical expertise will help ensure high-quality, reliable patient care.

UPMC offers a competitive sign-on bonus for eligible candidates :

• Medical Laboratory Technician : $5,000 with a 2-year commitment
• Medical Laboratory Scientist : $7,500 with a 2-year commitment
• Applicants are placed into the appropriate title and pay grade based on experience and education.
