Responsibilities Position is in a pediatric float pool, covering NICU, PICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum / mother baby units Assignment length is 13 weeks with night shifts (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 00) Float to various pediatric units as needed per facility policy Work 36 or 48 hours per week, including every other weekend Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays Uses Epic EMR system, prior Epic experience required Provide patient care to a range of pediatric populations across multiple units as part of the float pool Adherence to facility float policies is mandatory RTO is limited to 40 hours per 13-week contract, and must be requested before contract acceptance Mandatory participation in up to 16 hours of orientation modules by specialty Must not have worked at University of Virginia Health system facilities within the last 12 months; total assignment limit is 365 days with no exceptions Scrub and dress code as per unit policy No radius rule for this position Background check required Locals may be accepted for this role Requirements Active VA or compact state RN license; license may be pending at submission but must be in hand before assignment starts Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required Previous experience in both PICU and NICU settings required Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Dr Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required or must be obtained prior to employment (can submit if pending, fee applies) BSN is preferred Two professional references required Nursys license verification required Epic EMR experience required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632925.
