About The Position

License : Must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences.
Certifications : Requires advanced certification in CT.
Must-Have : Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Description :
Conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, and assists patients and family members that require extra attention.
Ensures patient understanding whenever possible and ensures patient safety.
Verifies patient identification and asks and documents pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age.
Obtains images per protocols and manipulates images according to protocols.
Performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy.
Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.
Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures.
Follows the correct procedure to determine contrast eligibility and checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol.
Maintains a thorough understanding of image transfer systems and transmits images to quality control and electronic medical records.
Verifies and segments images at the quality control station.
Accesses service tools to verify images transmission and completes, modifies, and / or cancels orders in an appropriate and timely manner.
Cancels duplicate orders to avoid duplicate billing and ensures that all charge information is accurate.
Reviews patient charts and reports for correlation and maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
Creates and keeps documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities.
Precepts new employees and students.
Performs tasks in a timely manner, runs the schedule creating a consistent workflow, and volunteers to work on challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research.
Produces quality diagnostic images.
Maintains current competency in basic life support.
