Head Of Global Commodity Management "Rotating & Auxiliaries" Systems
The organization Strategic Procurement, Direct Material is responsible for developing procurement strategies for direct materials and services that will ensure the optimization of Siemens Energy's competitive position. As Head of Global Commodity Management "Rotating & Auxiliaries" Systems for Siemens Energy, you will be managing a distributed team and you are responsible for the development of supply chain and procurement strategies (for commodities Cooling System & Condensers, Liquid Gas Supply System, Generators, Mechanical Power Transmission, Valves & Actuators) and supplier relationship management that contribute to the success of Siemens Energy while creating additional value beyond classical cost-out.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage a team of Corporate Commodity Managers as well as Regional Commodity Managers for assigned material fields while leading by example and focus on people growth
- Develop and implement commodity strategies for responsible material field by closely collaborating with Commodity Managers within respective Business Areas
- Optimize and adjust allocation of resources according to changing business requirements
- Simplify, accelerate and increase agility in direct material cost out and procurement strategies through a mix of entrepreneurial attitude and critical thinking
- Improve supply chain resilience and adjust sourcing strategies to changing global risk patterns : development of suppliers in new sourcing regions, dual sourcing, stocking strategies, innovative manufacturing methods and strong supplier relationship management
- As a global function, closely cooperate with SQ, CVE, and internal partners to provide professional commodity management support to the business, including guidance on cost-out opportunities, risk management, and new technologies & trends in supply chain
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or in a related field.5+ years of experience in procurement related roles, especially in product or solution business (e. g. Commodity Management for Steel or Metals) or similar expertise in technical functions as well as experience in related Industries e.g. Renewable, O&G, Energy utilities.Excellent Leadership experience and managing change and the capability to negotiate and to operate in different cultures.Knowledge of working with a global supplier base, in a functional matrix environment.Outstanding communication, presentation, and partner management skills.English language skills mandatory, German desirable.About The Team
