Job description

Position Overview The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained Acute Pain Anesthesiologist in Georgia to join a robust academic anesthesia program. This position offers a high-volume regional anesthesia practice (2,500+ blocks annually) with a balanced mix of acute pain service (APS) and general anesthesia. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians passionate about regional anesthesia, perioperative pain management innovation, and academic mentorship in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Provide advanced regional anesthesia and acute pain management for surgical and trauma patients across Georgia. Perform a wide range of blocks including interscalene, supraclavicular, femoral / adductor canal, sciatic, TAP, spinal, and epidural anesthesia Implement multimodal analgesia protocols across orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, and oncology cases. Participate in APS coverage 1 week per month (AM : blocks, PM : general OR). Provide general OR anesthesia coverage when not on APS. Support program growth with upcoming hospital & ASC expansion (opening 2026 in Georgia). Teaching & Mentorship Supervise residents and medical students in block techniques and perioperative care. Lead simulation sessions, lectures, and skills development. Mentor junior faculty and foster regional anesthesia research. Program Development Expand APS in alignment with growing surgical volumes.
