Gas and Trailer Technician

The Gas and Trailer Technician is responsible for all maintenance and commissioning of Hexagon and other high-pressure CNG trailers and equipment located at company and customer sites, to include LPG tanks and vaporizers. The Gas and Trailer Technician will also be expected to conduct inspections on CNG trailer chassis and perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance. They will conduct routine inspections and maintenance to 30,000 gallon fixed LPG tanks and related support equipment. This role functions in an on-site and on-call capacity. The technician will be expected to provide phone and email support for various service and repair questions.

The candidate must have a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to demonstrate immediate results in a very fast-paced environment. A Gas and Trailer Technician must be able to travel weekly to company and customer locations to maintain and ensure the fleet is able to meet all customer needs. The Gas and Trailer technician must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must also be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all SOPs and safety precautions. This work involves high-pressure, flammable gas, so following all safe hazmat practices is paramount. All work will be performed outside and year-round.

Responsibilities :

• Build trust and credibility by holding yourself and all co-workers to the company's code of business ethics, and company policies & procedures.
• Complete inspections, and perform preventative maintenance, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, turnover, and general repairs on the company’s Hexagon CNG trailers, chassis, CNG, and other LPG equipment.
• Train others on general repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain meticulous service records on all trailers.
• Complete and submit a weekly log of all repairs, travel, and notable activities.
• Perform tire maintenance to include defect identification, repairs, and failure analysis.
• Participate in emergency off-site repairs, including roadside breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's goals.
• Make timely and accurate requests for parts and materials.
• Read and analyze prints / drawings.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Complete and pass a criminal history record check and employment history verification. A federal-level drug and alcohol-free status must be supported for the duration of employment and monitored through pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion drug testing requirements.

Skills :

Ability to communicate, interact, and work with a team of company drivers to reduce breakdowns and downtime

Ability to read and understand repair manuals and follow written and verbal instructions.

Understanding and ability to complete computerized and manual repair orders

Use hand and air tools, and the various tools and shop equipment required to complete all mechanical job tasks and functions

Education / Experience :

One year certificate from a trade or technical school or 3+ years of mechanical / maintenance work experience

1-2 years related experience and training in natural gas services (preferred)

High school education or GED

Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office

Prior experience with eMaint (preferred)

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Possesses a strong work ethic and team player mentality

This position is on the road greater than 50% of the time, with a target to be in the Fargo, ND to Watertown, SD at least 25% of the time.
