About The Position

Emergency Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens Opportunity

Contract Length : 13 Weeks

Start Date : December 1, 2025

Location : Multiple hospital sites across Pennsylvania (travel provided)

We’re seeking Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians (MD / DO) to join a hospital system’s float pool covering several modern emergency departments throughout Pennsylvania. This is a high-paying, flexible opportunity for experienced EM physicians who can adapt to a variety of hospital environments and enjoy diverse clinical settings.

Position Highlights

Schedule : Minimum of 8–10 shifts per month (block scheduling available for travelers)

Shift Lengths : 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts depending on location

Settings Include : Level II trauma centers and critical access hospitals

EMR : Cerner

Patient Population : All ages

Support : Varies by site — includes physician and APP coverage at larger facilities

Orientation : All hours billable

Representative Facility Details

Modern trauma-capable EDs with advanced equipment such as Glidescopes and bedside ultrasound

Strong clinical teams with administrative and nursing support

Case volumes ranging from 10,000 to 40,000 annual visits depending on facility

Procedural exposure : Codes, intubations, central lines, and rapid response coverage at smaller hospitals

Requirements

Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM required)

Active Pennsylvania license preferred (IMLC accepted)

Active DEA and BLS certification

Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience

Must be willing to float between multiple hospitals and cover various shifts

Credentialing

Typical timeframe : 60–90 days

Emergency privileges can be granted within 30 days
