Responsibilities
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will evaluate and provide expert speech-language therapy to individuals in their homes, under the supervision of an attending physician. Your role will involve working in various home environments, including single-family homes, assisted living facilities, independent living spaces, or memory care units.
You will assess and treat patients facing challenges such as language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those needing alternative or augmentative communication methods. Specifically, you may work with patients who have experienced strokes or are living with progressive diseases like Parkinson’s or dementia.
