The Automation Engineer III is responsible for software design, implementation, and support of automation and process control systems projects, including new installations, modifications, and customer support. Activities are heavily focused on-site at customer facilities. The ideal candidate must be proficient in PC use and Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education : Associate Degree in Automated Manufacturing, Electro Mechanical Technology, EET, or equivalent.
  • Experience : 10+ years of advanced PLC / HMI programming and system startup experience.
  • Valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Travel : 25-50%.
  • Work Schedule : Between 6 AM and 6 PM, Monday-Friday, with possible nights, weekends, and holidays. Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Methodically approach process startup.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Work independently, assess and troubleshoot service needs under stressful conditions, and resolve complex system issues.
  • Provide direction to less senior Automation Engineers and lead project assignments independently or with a team.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and provide quality control feedback.
  • Support code streamlining and build a code library adhering to standards.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
