Patient Educator- Hendricks Diabetes Center PRN (8AM-4 : 30PM Monday - Friday) RN BSN

Job Summary :

To provide nursing care that is patient and family education centered in an environment that exemplifies best practice and customer service; fosters relationship based care; and maintains the integrity of professional nursing standards. Nursing care guidelines are based on the ANA Code of Ethics (1), Indiana Nurse Practice Act (2), Nursing Process, and regulatory agency standards by which the RN provides patient care and shared leadership for the unit.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

Fiscal Responsibility

• Confers with Unit Director on unit education budgetary needs and submits annual Patient Education budget.
• Manages time productively; flexes scheduling for patient need; maintains automated time system documentation; and completes assignments / teaching responsibilities per scheduled time frames.
• Seeks assistance from resources to optimize patient scheduling for education per standards and provide appropriate billing information and documentation.
• Reviews and maintains current resource literature, attends product and practice change education, and applies such to promote non-salary cost saving (equipment and supplies.)
