CNA / GNA and Medical Assisting Programs Coordinator and Instructor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

• Teach in classroom, skills lab, and clinical as required.
• Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and online) methodology and student-centered learning.
• Maintain appropriate area of Allied Health Certification and remain current in other related Allied Health disciplines.
• Maintain scheduled availability to students in the form of office hours.
• Participate with other faculty in developing and managing courses, and curricula.
• Work with lab coordinators to maintain laboratories, supplies and / or equipment.
• Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, practices and appropriate areas of Allied Health.
• Attend regular meetings with the WSCE Allied Health program manager.
• Teach assigned courses, utilizing strategies and activities to promote student engagement and enhanced student learning.
• Follow established rules and guidelines of appropriate area of Allied Health.
• Maintain current and develop new curriculum within appropriate area of Allied Health for student placements.
• Develop, coordinate and monitor all course and clinical documentation.
• Assist students with state testing and licensing.
• Develop and implement a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student learning and achievement of course outcomes.
• Advise students regarding program requirements.
• Maintain current licensure, BLS, and specialty certifications.
• Actively participate in continuing education activities to maintain licensure, maintain teaching and clinical expertise, and fulfill clinical agency practice standards.
• Maintain communication and coordination with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Oversight of Medical Assisting program software (NHA).
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the College.
• Other duties as assigned.
