Line Cook – Trapper's Sushi (Dove Creek, TX)

Trapper's Sushi is now looking for a talented Line Cook to join our growing team in our new Dove Creek – San Antonio location!

Our Line Cooks play a vital role in that mission by preparing high-quality dishes that meet Trapper's standards for flavor, freshness, and presentation.
Position Overview
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing menu items to order under the direction of the Master Chef and in collaboration with the sushi and kitchen teams. This position requires accuracy, consistency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service.
Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, cutting fish, and preparing sauces.
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Fry cooked rolls and assist Sushi Chefs with preparation as directed.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and nutrition regulations in compliance with local health codes.
Clean up stations and properly store leftover food.
Label, rotate, and stock inventory according to FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
Complete opening and closing duties efficiently and safely.

Experience and Qualifications
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, prep cook, or restaurant cook.
Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail in executing assigned tasks.
Ability to collaborate effectively and stay positive under pressure.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary training a plus.
Texas Food Handler Card required prior to hire.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Demands
Stand for extended periods in a busy kitchen environment.
Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 20 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Use hands and arms for repetitive chopping, lifting, and plating motions.
Twist, bend, reach, and crouch occasionally while performing kitchen duties.
