About The Position

Description :

Provide diagnostic CT scans for interpretation by the radiologist or ordering physician in a quick and timely manner.

Expectations include covering CT duties within the ER and inpatient department as needed during the shift.

Apply principles of radiation safety.

Organize the daily schedule and be a dedicated resource to the CT team on shift.

Consistently operate essential patient care equipment and observe patients before, during, and after procedures.

Utilize appropriate immobilization and patient transfer devices safely.

Transfer patients effectively and give care with IVs and other appliances.

Ensure all equipment is operated safely and report malfunctions immediately.

Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures and radiation safety.

Verify accuracy of data entered and retrieved from the physician's orders and computer systems.

Review orders for diagnosis and prescriptions.

Schedule patient and department resources appropriately for services.

Perform all procedures according to protocol prescribed by the radiologist or physician.

Present completed procedures for interpretation.

Collaborate with staff members and physicians to assure optimal patient care delivery.

Revise department schedules and staff assignments to meet patient and physician needs as necessary.

Assume responsibility for portions of the quality improvement program and keep all documentation current.

Assist in the department orientation and training programs for new staff.

Evaluate diagnostic procedures for appropriateness and take corrective measures when needed.

Perform venipuncture for the instillation of CT contrast.

Effectively manage procedures and charge entry in electronic health records.

Maintain a clean environment by checking equipment and stocking rooms as needed.

Work a fair share of on-call and display flexibility by working in different areas as required.

Display positive communication with patients and their families before procedures to obtain pertinent qualifications.

Maintain alignment with PTO policy and clock in and out at scheduled times.

Demonstrate technical proficiency in producing diagnostic images and recognize technical abnormalities.

Select appropriate techniques for each procedure and position patients according to department protocol.

Prepare and stock rooms for various exams, checking equipment between patients.

Alter routine procedures as necessary based on patient conditions.

Transport patients, specimens, and films as required.

Commit to a collaborative environment and advocate for high-quality patient care.
