About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Tech

Profession : Surgical Services

Duration : 17 weeks

Shift : Day 3x12-Hour; Weekday and weekend call required

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (06 : 40 - 19 : 10; 10 : 40 - 23 : 10)

Experience : Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.

License : Must possess a current surgical technologist license.

Certifications : BLS must be certified through the American Heart Association.

Must-Have : Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in the Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of the program.

Description :

The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery.

They promote the safety of the patient during surgery.

They provide assistance to the surgeon during surgery.

They care for the patient during surgery and manage instruments and supplies used in surgery.

The Surgical Technologist functions to promote the safety of the patient as a member of the surgical team.

The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to effectively care for patients of all age groups.

Special procedures include kidney transplant, hysterectomy, cystectomy, and laparoscopic Gynecology.

Experience with robotic systems such as Da Vinci Xi is required.

Knowledge of aseptic technique and care of scopes and fiber optic equipment is essential.

The position requires weekend availability and call responsibilities.

This role requires floating to multiple units based on staffing needs.
