Position Summary

Admissions Representative is responsible for directing patients and / or relatives, visitors, and promoting positive guest relations. Responsible for the Admissions / Registration, Pre-Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers of patients. Accurately obtains demographic and insurance information while collecting or making financial arrangements on co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay accounts. Obtains insurance authorizations and / or pre-certifications and verifies insurance coverage and benefits. Assists with the development and implementation of the department's Performance Improvement Plan.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Minimum Experience : Three (3) years experience in a medical business setting conducting prior authorizations, insurance benefit verifications and strong knowledge of medical terminology. Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
