Job description

Hoag Health, Orange County's top-ranked health system is seeking a full time, Physician Assistant to join our growing Vascular Surgery program!

The Hoag Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute at Hoag Health is pioneering world-class care in our community. The program is involved in multiple clinical trials and is often a site for new technologies as multiple leading biotech companies are headquartered or have a strong presence in Orange County, CA. We are also expanding, with a new hospital being completed in Irvine, CA in 2026!

Highlights :

  • Full time position
  • Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm
  • Outpatient role with occasional inpatient duties including rounding, consultations, discharging and first assist support

Duties :

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Administer medications and perform procedures such as phlebotomy and dermabrasion.
  • Provide health coaching to patients, educating them on lifestyle changes and wellness strategies.
  • Suturing, closing, retracting. Sclerotherapy experience preferred but not required
  • Participate in discharge planning for patients leaving the hospital, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including medical coding for billing purposes.
  • Requirements :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Vascular Surgery PA or 2 years of experience
  • Active CA Physician Assistant License in good standing
  • Graduate from an accredited PA program
  • Vascular and / or surgical experience highly preferred but not required
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • Experience working in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
